Karla Redman, Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Karla seeks to build a comfortable relationship of trust and openness so that she may better assist those individuals or families struggling with everyday life issues as well as those with more complex mental concerns. With over 25 years in mental health, her experiences cover a wide range of settings including medical and mental hospitals, dialysis, hospice, home health, trauma responder, eating disorders treatment program, and 13+ years in full time private practice. She works with children, adolescents, and adults using cognitive-behavioral and experiential therapy with the idea of treating the whole person – mental, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual. Karla enjoys helping others in the office as well as in the community. She has been involved as the psychological liaison for over 10 years with the Butts County Mounted Search and Rescue, Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT), and Ham Radio Team. Likewise, she has provided services for the GA Critical Incident Stress Management Team which specializes in support for firefighters, EMS, police, and other first responders.
Karla received her Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington and her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.
Karla is looking forward to being a part of this community and getting to know the people and places of North Georgia. She has three grown children and on her days off she enjoys spending time with her family as well as hiking, backpacking, horseback riding, geocaching, and church activities.
